Cameron Wishart

Hi, I’m Cameron Wishart — a passionate artist based near Bicester in Oxfordshire, UK. Originally from South Africa, I moved to the UK with my family in 2004, and from as early as I can remember, art has been a huge part of my life.

I’ve always loved creating — whether it was doodling with pencils or painting with brushes — and this passion followed me through school, where I studied art extensively, including during my A-Levels. I also completed an Art Foundation course at Oxford Brookes University, focusing on fashion while still working on pet and people portraits on the side.

My favourite medium and signature style has become painting on slate, which I use to make commissioned pet portraits, clocks, and other unique pieces. I’ve experimented with many techniques, but slate art is where I feel my creativity truly comes alive.

Although I once pursued a different path and studied Dance and Performance at university, I never lost touch with drawing and painting. Now, having left that chapter behind and balancing art with life, I’m able to fully focus on building my creative career — and I love every minute of it.

My mission as an artist is simple:

to capture the emotion, connection, and personality of every subject I paint — pets, people, or animals — and to create artwork that clients truly treasure.
