Although I wouldn’t say I’m completely starting this business from scratch (as before I was still making the odd commission), I am finally taking it seriously as a job. I am only just beginning to understand why I want to do this and that what I had going on before this was merely a hobby… or side-line ‘fling’ that brought in some extra cash in the months.
Enjoy Every Moment
There is a lot that goes into a business and it is completely and utterly scary but as for this moment and where I am now, I am completely and thoroughly enjoying it. Being able to learn new skills and understand new ways of thinking everyday has opened my mind up to opportunities and ideas that I never even knew were there.
If there is ANYTHING that you want to learn about or start creating… you can literally type it into YouTube and there is a community of people in that field who are there with open arms to help you every step of the way for absolutely free. From fixing a car to (put something here) there are people who are at the point in their life that you want to be in and are willing to openly share their tips and tricks on everything.
Take advantage of motivation streaks
I do believe that without prior planning my intentions and setting goals at the beginning of all this of what I want to achieve, I wouldn’t have a purpose. As the great life coaches say, setting intentions gave me my ‘WHY’ for doing this. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely have days that turn into weeks of my motivation sliding… but when my motivation is up, I take full advantage and try get a lot done that I missed out on doing.
Your WHY?
Everyone should have a WHY. Even if you don’t have massive ideas for the future… your why is the backbone to who we are as people. I honestly believe if we don’t have a WHY, then what’s it all for? Your why can be as small as, “because I want to go out for dinner once a week”, or, “I want to go clubbing every weekend with my friends.” Even that will give you the purpose and drive to get you out of bed and go to work every day. But as soon as you lose that WHY, and you start hating going to work, not enjoying being around your colleagues and just not wanting to do anything, you won’t have that passion to go for the things you love.
You’ve got to have that thing that’s gets you out of bed in the morning thinking TODAY IS GOING TO BE GREAT DAY BECAUSE *fill in blank*.
Trust
Trust yourself, you are good enough and you deserve this.
Being able to trust myself that I will achieve what I want to is also a massive part of starting this business. I always doubt my abilities and wether or not I would be able to run a business efficiently. However, what I’ve found is you start trusting yourself every step of the way, and as I said before, just staring is the biggest leap of faith you can do for yourself.
Ok… now that was deep but I just want to, in small ways, help people find what it is that they love. I want people to understand their reason for doing what they’re doing, and love what they’re doing. I’m doing this blog and starting the business again with a proper plan because to be honest, like a lot of people, I don’t like working for someone else and also, I want to do something that brings my life joy. I want to use a gift that God gave me and share it with the world. I want people to relate to me and feel that if I can do this with no experience but just a love for art and creating, then they can do it as well, and maybe even better.
Well, I hope you’ve gotten something out of this and remember, you can do whatever you put your mind to.
If I can do it, you certainly can
Love, Me.
